Los ingresos por el turismo de compras crecen un 18% en Barcelona en 2019
El turismo de compras se consolida. Los ingresos generados por turismo de compras tax free aumentaron un 18% en Barcelona en 2019, según el primer barómetro anual sobre el turismo de compras en Cataluña de Global Blue.
Los turistas que mayor gasto generaron en los comercios de la capital catalana fueron los coreanos, hongkoneses y chinos, siendo estos últimos los que más desembolsaron, concentrando el 38% del gasto. En 2019, las compras de turistas procedentes de China continental en Barcelona se incrementaron un 16%, consolidándose como la principal nacionalidad por gasto y copando tres de cada diez euros.
Por otro lado, los procedentes de Corea del Sur y Hong Kong realizaron compras que aumentaron el gasto más de un 50%, y los estadounidenses gastaron un 39% más en las compras realizadas en la ciudad catalana. Los viajeros rusos fueron los que menos incrementaron su gasto, con un alza del 6%.
Más del 60% de las compras turísticas en Barcelona se realizaron en Paseo de Gracia
Paseo de Gracia se mantiene como una de los principales destinos de los turistas de largo radio en España, copando un tercio del gasto total en el país. En 2019, el gasto en esta calle se elevó un 19% y representó un 60% del desembolso en la ciudad
Sin embargo, el informe de Global Blue destaca que Barcelona y el conjunto de España todavía están “lejos de ser un destino atractivo para el turista de élite”. Estos son aquello, en referencia a los viajeros que gastan en compras alrededor de 40.000 euros y que anualmente realizan más de tres viajes de quince días de duración. En la actualidad, España sólo capta el 37% del presupuesto de los turistas que poseen un alto poder adquisitivo.
