Privalia deja atrás las pérdidas en su primer ejercicio con Vente Privee
Privalia vuelve a números negros. La compañía catalana, propiedad del grupo francés Vente Privee desde abril de 2016, ha cerrado su último ejercicio con un beneficio neto de 17,9 millones de euros, frente a las pérdidas de 13,5 millones de euros del año anterior. La empresa también mejoró su facturación, que creció un 19,1%.
Se trata del primer ejercicio completo tras la venta de Privalia a Vente Privee. Después de la operación, la sociedad con la que opera el grupo catalán, Privalia Venta Directa, absorbió a la filial española de la compañía francesa, Venta Privada Ibérica.
En el informe de gestión correspondiente a 2017, Privalia explica que las pérdidas de 2016 se debieron “fundamentalmente a las obligaciones a corto plazo por pagos basados en instrumentos de patrimonio, las cuales ascendían a 23,7 millones de euros”, según consta en las cuentas del grupo depositadas en el Registro Mercantil y recogidas por Expansión.
Privalia facturó 547,8 millones de euros en 2017, un 19,1% más que el año anterior
Las ventas de la sociedad ascendieron el año pasado a 547,8 millones de euros. Las previsiones de la compañía pasan porque la cifra de negocio “crecerá de forma importante en 2018, obteniendo una mejor rentabilidad del negocio tradicional y del grupo en general”. En el informe de gestión, el grupo también apunta que “se trabajará con la eficiencia en costes que ayudará a mejorar la rentabilidad del grupo”.
El año pasado, Privalia incrementó sus ventas en los cuatro mercados en los que opera. Brasil fue el territorio donde más creció, con un alza del 21%, hasta 138,5 millones de euros. Le siguió México, con un alza del 19,2%, hasta 74,2 millones de euros. En España, por su parte, la empresa creció un 18,8%, hasta 175 millones de euros, y en Italia facturó 159,3 millones de euros, un 17,6% más.
En los últimos meses, Privalia se ha hecho con la compañía Criptomart para la gestión de su nuevo almacén logístico situado en Santa Oliva (Baix Penedès). También después del cierre del ejercicio, José Manuel Villanueva, uno de los fundadores de Privalia, dejó su cargo en la empresa española para ocupar un nuevo puesto directivo en la central de Vente Privee en París.
Vente Privee adquirió Privalia en abril de 2016 por 444,1 millones de euros, el equivalente a 24 veces su resultado bruto de explotación (ebitda). Tras la operación, Albert Serrano, director general de la plataforma catalana, tomó las riendas de todo el grupo en el mercado español, y la sede de Privalia en Barcelona pasó a operar como cuartel general de las dos compañías.
