Relevo en Base. La central de compras ha anunciado la salida de Álex Cucurull como director general, una decisión que ha querido desvincular de la crisis que se ha desatado en el comercio por el estado de alarma.
El presidente del grupo, Francisco Torrejón, explica a Palco23que la idea es dar con un sustituto para el ejecutivo. “Mientras, las decisiones se tomarán de forma colegiada por parte de los responsables de cada departamento y yo mismo”, comenta. El objetivo, apunta, es “dar un renovado impulso a las líneas de actuación marcadas por el consejo de administración.

“Esta decisión, profundamente meditada por todo el consejo, es fruto de la obstinada creencia de que es absolutamente indispensable priorizar el cumplimiento del plan estratégico”, señalan en un comunicado. El mismo, recuerdan, se ha construido “con el equipo directivo, las comisiones y un grupo de expertos que se unieron al grupo para aportar su experiencia”.
El grupo tiene más de 300 tiendas distribuidas por España a través de decenas de asociados y cerró el ejercicio fiscal de 2018 con una facturación de 65,5 millones de euros. Para 2020, su intención es abrir una veintena de aperturas con Wanna Sneakers, el formato creado para abordar este creciente segmento de la moda deportiva.
Base Detall Sport señala que seguirá basando su estrategia en conceptos como la verticalización, la digitalización, el desarrollo del ecommerce y el crecimiento en áreas de expansión, así como el athleisure. Lo que no contempla, y así lo deja claro en su comunicado, es “más fuerte que nunca” su decisión de “no contar con producto propio y ser la tienda de todas las marcas que fabriquen productos técnicos”.
