Stella McCartney entra en pérdidas en su primer año sin Kering
Stella McCartney entra en números rojos. La compañía británica, participada por Kering hasta 2018, ha cerrado el ejercicio 2018 con unas pérdidas antes de impuestos de once millones de libras (12,7 millones de euros), frente al beneficio de nueve millones de libras (10,3 millones de euros) del año anterior, según las cuentas depositadas en el Registro Mercantil y recogidas por el medio local City AM. Las ventas se mantuvieron en línea con respecto a las registradas en 2017 y anotaron un alza del 0,2%, hasta 42,6 millones de libras (49,1 millones de euros).
La entrada en pérdidas de Stella McCartney se enmarca en el ejercicio en el que la diseñadora rompió con Kering. En marzo de 2018, la diseñadora británica compró a Kering la participación que tenía en la empresa, que ascendía al 50% del capital. El conglomerado francés de lujo formaba parte del capital de la compañía desde 2001, cuando cofundó la marca junto a la diseñadora.
Tras romper con Kering, Stella McCartney se alió con LVMH, que adquirió una participación minoritaria en el capital. El acuerdo supuso también la incorporación de McCartney al grupo como asesora en materia de sostenibilidad.
