Urban Outfitters ajustará también su plantilla ante la crisis del coronavirus
Urban Outfitters también toma medidas ante el coronavirus. La compañía estadounidense de distribución de moda prescindirá de un “número sustancial” de empleados de tiendas y oficinas durante los próximos sesenta días. El grupo, que cuenta con 24.000 empleados, pondrá en marcha esta medida el 1 de abril.
El dueño de Anthropologie, Free People y Urban Outfitters mantiene cerrados sus 623 establecimientos con los que opera en Estados Unidos, Canadá y Europa desde el pasado 14 de marzo y continuarán cerradas hasta próximo aviso.
En paralelo, la empresa ha puesto en marcha medidas adicionales para hacer frente a la situación, como la cancelación de los bonus y compensaciones al equipo directivo. Además, la empresa también dispondrá de 220 millones de dólares de su línea de crédito revolving.
Por otro lado, el grupo ha señalado que ha cancelado la mayoría de los pedidos que tenía ordenados, suspendido el pago de alquileres de forma temporal, cancelado los planes de apertura y pausado su proyecto de expansión a China.
