Jeff Bezos, el hombre con una fortuna superior a los US$ 110 billones, ha visitado lndia y anunciado que realizará una inversión de US$1 billón durante los próximos 5 años para digitalizar a pequeños y medianos negocios del gigante asiático y, de esta forma, hacer una mejora cualitativa en su negocio minorista.
La inversión de la multinacional americana permitirá que 10 millones de empresas indias pasen a distribuir sus productos a través de la plataforma comercial más famosa del mundo. Asimismo prevé una mejora en la exportación de productos indios por valor de US$ 10.000 millones en 2025.
Esta es la respuesta del magnate norteamericano ante las críticas vertidas por parte de Confederation os All India Traders, una asociación que representa a más de 70 millones de comercios indios, relativas a la competencia desleal que práctica Amazon al infringir la normativa del país asiático que regula, entre otros aspectos, los grandes descuentos en las plataformas digitales. En su defensa, Bezos aseguraba que su empresa ofrece oportunidades a más de 550.000 negocios para que establezcan lazos comerciales muy aprovechables en India.
Pese a las críticas ya hay medidas prácticas derivadas de la futura inversión anunciada: Amazon instalará centros digitales en más de 100 ciudades y pueblos para ayudar a las empresas a ponerse en línea y, de esa forma, vender sus productos en cualquier lugar del mundo. Esos nuevos centros también dispensarán ayuda logística y comercial a las compañías que se suscriban.
