Al dar a conocer que el Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) del país se había contraído un 4.8 % en el primer trimestre del año, el Gobierno situó en un 7.6 % la tasa anual de caída del gasto de los consumidores entre enero y marzo.
La caída del consumo afectó a todos los sectores, incluyendo servicios y atención médica, pero muy especialmente al sector de ocio, hoteles y la compra de automóviles. El gasto en alimentos, por su lado, aumentó un 19.1 %.
