Kering refuerza su negocio de óptica y renueva la licencia de Gucci con Safilo por tres años
Kering continúa avanzando en óptica. El conglomerado francés de lujo, dueño de marcas como Balenciaga o Botega Venetta, ha renovado la licencia de producción de gafas de Gucci con la compañía italiana Safilo por tres años más.
En paralelo, Roberto Vedovotto, director general de Kering Eyewear, ha negado el interés de del grupo francés de hacerse con el negocio de la compañía italiana de óptica. “No nos interesa tener fábricas, preferimos mantener nuestra flexibilidad contactando a diferentes proveedores”, ha señalado el directivo.
Safilo cerró el ejercicio 2018 con unas pérdidas de 32,4 millones de euros, frente al beneficio neto negativo de 251,5 millones que registró en 2017. Entre enero y diciembre del año pasado, Safilo alcanzó unas ventas de 962,8 millones de euros, un 7% menos que en 2017.
