KKR abre la chequera por las marcas de belleza profesional de Coty. La gestora estadounidense de fondos estaría tanteando ofrecer 8.000 millones de dólares, por la compra de la división de belleza profesional de Coty.
Si la operación se concreta, KKR se haría con el negocio de las marcas de cuidado del cabello Clairol, Wella, GHD, Nioxin, Sassoon Professional, Professional Sebastian, System Professional, Kadus Professional y Londa Professional, así como la marca de cuidado de uñas OPI. Coty adquirió el negocio a P&G en 2015, en un acuerdo que incluyó 43 marcas de belleza.
En octubre pasado, el consejo administrativo de Coty había anunciado los planes de venta de la división, debido a que “las oportunidades de crecimiento del negocio están fuera del enfoque estratégico central de la compañía”, según fue comunicado por la empresa. La empresa recibió la aprobación de la venta por parte del accionista mayoritario JAB Holdings.
El gigante de la cosmética y la perfumería, Coty concluyó 2019 (cerrado a 31 de julio) con una caída del 6% en su beneficio neto, 487,6 millones de dólares (439,2 millones de euros) a cierre del año y ventas de 8.648 millones de dólares (7.790,8 millones de euros), un 8% menos que en el año anterior.
