La OMS declara a Europa el «epicentro» de la pandemia mundial de coronavirus
La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) señla que Europa es ahora el «epicentro» de la pandemia mundial coronavirus, dado que se reportan más casos y muertos que en el resto del mundo combinado, aparte de China.
El epicentro cambia de China, donde ya están consiguiendo revertir la situación, a Europa, donde los países más afectados son Italia (15.133 casos), España (4.332), Francia (2.876) y Alemania (2.078). La pandemia deja hasta el momento 5.095 muertos y más de 135.000 contagiados en el mundo, según ultimo informe de la OMS este viernes.
«Nuestro mensaje a los países sigue siendo el mismo: debéis abordar una solución global. No solamente chequear. No sólo controlar los contactos de los positivos. No sólo cuarentenas. No sólodistanciamiento social. Hacedlo todo», ha sido el mensaje del director del organismo, Tedros Adhanom.
La OMS advierte a «cualquier país que mire la experiencia de otros países y piense que eso no les va a pasar a ellos» que comete «un error mortal». «Le puede pasar a todo el mundo», subraya.
En este orden los jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de los países del G-7 celebrarán el lunes de la semana que viene una cumbre extraordinaria por videoconferencia para hablar del coronavirus, según ha anunciado este viernes el presidente francés, Emmanuel Macron.
Al respecto declara el mismo : «Coordinaremos nuestros esfuerzos para la vacuna y los tratamientos y trabajaremos en una respuesta económica y financiera».
