Balenciaga aterriza en Barcelona: abre en Paseo de Gracia
Kering exprime el fenómeno Balenciaga. El conglomerado de lujo, dueño también de Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent y Bottega Veneta, ultima la apertura de la primera tienda de Balenciaga en Barcelona, que estará ubicada en Paseo de Gracia, según El Periódico de Catalunya.
El establecimiento se encontrará en el número 101, donde hasta ahora operaba el restaurante Samoa. La operación ha sido intermediada por Aretail. La tienda contará con 584 metros cuadrados distribuidos en planta calle y sótano y se abrirá el próximo mayo.
Balenciaga contaba hasta ahora con una única tienda en España, ubicada en Madrid. La tienda se encuentra en el número 75 de la calle Lagasca y se abrió en 2015. Ahora, la firma se sumará a otras de las marcas del grupo Kering que ya opera en Paseo de Gracia, como Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent o Bottega Veneta.

Kering no desagrega la evolución de Balenciaga, pero en su último informe anual precisa que su resultado en 2019 fue “excelente”. La empresa vive desde 2015 una nueva juventud de la mano del director creativo Demna Gvasalia, fundador de Vetements.
El lujo ha estado especialmente activo en Paseo de Gracia en los últimos años. Junto con la de Balenciaga, una de las próximas operaciones será el traslado de Hermès, que relevará a Stuart Weitzman en el número 81.
Sólo desde 2016 han aterrizado en Paseo de Gracia firmas como Kenzo, Fendi, Isabel Marant, Christian Louboutin, Loro Piana y Céline, y Bulgari y Dior han renovado sus establecimientos.
Tampoco la gran distribución se ha quedado quieta. En el tramo más cercano a Plaza Cataluña han abierto en los últimos años un nuevo flagship de H&M, la primera tienda de Uniqlo, la ampliada tienda de Zara y un nuevo establecimiento de Calzedonia y Falconeri, a las que próximamente se sumará una macrotienda de Nike.
