Arvind traza un plan para duplicar su tamaño. El gigante indio del textil, uno de los mayores proveedores de denim del mundo, se ha marcado como objetivo alcanzar una cifra de negocio de 120.000 millones de rupias (1.420 millones de euros) en 2023.
El grupo se encuentra inmerso en la actualidad en un proceso de reordenación de su negocio. La empresa quiere crear sociedades independientes para gestionar su actividad relacionada en la distribución de marcas en India, así como otros negocios vinculados a la ingeniería.
Según declaraciones del consejero delegado de Arvind, Kulin Lalbhai, a la agencia de noticias india PTI, la empresa no ha realizado en los últimos años grandes inversiones en su negocio textil, donde ahora ven “grandes oportunidades de crecimiento”.
Arvid está reordenando su negocio para desvincular la actividad textil de la distribución y otros proyectos relacionados con la ingeniería
Lalbhai ha señalado que trabajan con miras a duplicar su tamaño en cinco años y, para ello, invertirán 5.000 millones de rupias (59 millones de euros) cada año con miras a apuntalar un crecimiento a doble dígito. La compañía financiará esta inversión con fondos propios.
Entre las acciones que contempla la nueva hoja de ruta de Arvind se encuentra la aceleración de la confección de prendas y la construcción de tres fábricas más en India, en las localidades de Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh y Guyarat, con plantillas de entre 4.000 y 8.000 trabajadores cada una de ellas.
La empresa también ultima la puesta en marcha de una factoría de confección en Etiopía para exportar a los mercados americano y europeo. La compañía contempla que todos estos nuevos centros productivos estén activos a principios de 2019. Por otro lado, Arvind también estudia su entrada en el ámbito de los textiles funcionales y las prendas deportivas, así como en textiles técnicos.
