Gucci vuelve a adquirir un proveedor. La compañía de lujo se ha hecho con el 51% de Colonna Holding, una compañía curtidora. Con este movimiento, el grupo Kering, del que forma parte la empresa, se hace con el control del área del cuero de la Toscana.
La adquisición de Colonna tiene la intención de consolidar relaciones a largo plazo y mejorar el proceso de la piel para que sea más sostenible, según informa MF Fashion.
La compañía de lujo posee siete talleres curtidores alrededor de Europa. Tres empresas especializadas en cuero en la zona de la Toscana, una en Serbia, la curtiduría Caravel, Blutonis de Ponte Egola y una empresa localizada en los Alpes llamada France Croco, especializada en pieles de cocodrilo.
Esta última adquisición de Gucci se une a las intenciones de los grandes grupos de la moda por adquirir el control del proceso del cuero. Hace un año Chanel adquirió Samanta y LVMH entró en el capital de Masoni.
Kering, dueño de Gucci y Balenciaga, ha cerrado el ejercicio 2019 con un crecimiento del 16,2%, hasta 15.884 millones de euros superando la barrera de los 15.000 millones por primera vez. A su vez, el grupo ha desplomado un 37,4% su beneficio.
