Índice Mensual de Actividad Manufacturera se recupera en mes de octubre

El Índice Mensual de Actividad Manufacturera (IMAM) de la Asociación de Industrias de la República Dominicana (AIRD) ascendió de 54.1 en el mes de septiembre 2019 a 62.3 en octubre, mostrando una tendencia a la alza, luego de dos meses consecutivos a la baja. Este comportamiento se debió a las variables Volumen de Ventas y Volumen de Producción, ya que Inventario de Materias Primas, Empleo y Plazo de Entregas Suplidores mostraron descenso.
Se precisa que cuando el IMAM se mantiene por encima del umbral de los 50 puntos refleja que las condiciones y perspectivas económicas del sector manufacturero se consideran favorables.
El IMAM es presentado con un ajuste por estacionalidad y ponderado en sus cinco variables y como índice general, lo cual permite tener una aproximación más confiable al tomar en cuenta las fluctuaciones recurrentes y por tanto predecibles que ocurren en un periodo dentro de un año, que tiende a afectar la medición de los resultados.
