La historia de Raquel Peña de Antuña
La señora Raquel Peña, candidata vicepresidencial por el Partido Revolucionario Moderno PRM, y quien acompañará a Luis Abinader a conquistar el favor del electorado camino a ocupar la Presidencia de la República en las elecciones del 16 de mayo próximo.
Raquel Peña es oriunda de la ciudad de Santiago de los Caballeros, cursó sus estudios primarios en el Colegio Sagrado Corazón de Jesús y posteriormente la secundaria en el Colegio De La Salle en la ciudad de Santiago. Descubrió su vocación por la educación alfabetizando niños que no tenían cupo en la escuela pública del barrio de Cienfuegos, de la mano del sacerdote Alfredo Morales.
Es egresada de la Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra de la carrera de Administración de Empresas. Entre otros estudios realizados destaca en el área de Negocios, Finanzas, Emprendimiento e Innovación, así como en Incubadoras de Negocios, realizados tanto en el país como en el exterior. En el año 2002, recibió el título de Magíster en Administración de Empresas (MBA) – doble titulación con la Universidad de Quebec a Montreal.
Inició su vida laboral a muy temprana edad en las empresas familiares. Como profesional asumió las responsabilidades de gerente general en empresas comerciales y tabacaleras de su familia.
En el año 2000 inició formalmente su otra vocación, paralela a los negocios, que es la Educación, siendo profesora por asignatura de la Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra en los niveles de grado y postgrado.
También se ha desempeñado como directora de la carrera de Administración de Empresa, directora del Centro Internacional de Innovación en Tecnología y Administración (CITAM) y además fundó el Centro PUCMM-Emprende.
En 2015 asumió la Vicerrectoría de Administración y Finanzas, posición que ocupa hasta la fecha.
Es accionista y presidente del Consejo de Administración del Parque Industrial Corporación Zona Franca del Norte, S.A.
En ese mismo orden, se desempeña como:
Miembro del Consejo de Directores de la Cámara de Comercio y Producción de Santiago.
Miembro de ADOZONA.
Miembro del Consejo de Directores de la Fundación Arquidiocesana Santiago Apóstol, FASA.
Miembro del Consejo de Directores de la Ciudad Santa María (CYSAMA)
Miembro de la Junta Directiva del Parque Central de Santiago
Miembro de la Junta Directiva de Worldwide Seguros
