México: Gamexpress fortalece su plataforma logística para distribución de videojuegos

Gamexpress, compañía líder en la comercialización y distribución de videojuegos en México, está llevando su estrategia logística al siguiente nivel mediante una alianza con Logística de México (LDM) y Manhattan Associates, con el fin de incrementar la velocidad, precisión, calidad y eficacia con la que entregan sus productos a todos sus clientes.

Valuada en alrededor de 10 mil millones de pesos en el país, la creciente industria de los videojuegos requiere afrontar nuevos retos para satisfacer la demanda. De acuerdo con estimaciones de Gamexpress, de los 35 millones de hogares mexicanos, el 20% cuenta con una consola de última generación, donde la edad promedio de un usuario es de 38 años. Asimismo, el gamer destina al día, entre 1.5 y 2 horas a dicha tecnología de entretenimiento.

“Nuestros tiempos de entrega oscilan entre 24 y 60 horas, pero con la modernización y uso de tecnología de punta en el almacén, seremos más eficientes en toda nuestra cadena de suministros, que va desde la importación, almacenamiento, hasta la entrega del pedido al cliente”, destacó Roberto Cánovas, director general de Gamexpress.

Actualmente, la empresa distribuidora de videojuegos genera 170 empleos directos, atendiendo a más de 40 mayoristas que en algunos casos operan hasta 7 mil puntos de venta distribuidos a lo largo del territorio nacional. Con un centro de distribución de más de 3 mil metros cuadrados movilizan anualmente más de 4 millones de unidades de videojuegos y productos de tecnología y entretenimiento.

Por su parte, José Ambe, director general de LDM indicó que “el diagnóstico estratégico, así como el uso de la tecnología de vanguardia, aplicada correctamente en las áreas logísticas y de cadena de suministro, contribuye a que las empresas sean más competitivas en sus sectores, visualizando las necesidades presentes y futuras de sus clientes, como lo hace Gamexpress”.

“A través de nuestro Sistema de Administración de Almacenes (WMS) Manhattan SCALE, buscamos hacer frente a los retos logísticos que la industria del videojuego afronta. De esta forma, se pueden aprovechar mejor los recursos de las compañías y eliminar los tiempos de inactividad para potencializar el proceso de distribución. Para lograrlo, hemos desarrollado una interfaz que es muy intuitiva, rápida, fácil de utilizar y cuya eficacia ha sido probada”, comentó Óscar Valero, director de Ventas Senior en América Latina de Manhattan Associates.

Bajo la asesoría de Logística de México, Gamexpress estará incorporando las soluciones de Manhattan Associates para hacer más eficientes sus procesos de distribución, desde la importación del producto hasta su entrega en el punto de venta, con lo cual buscará incrementar su capacidad operativa para ampliar su cobertura logística de acuerdo a las necesidades que la industria requiere.
