De acuerdo con el BrandZ 2019, el ranking de las marcas más valiosas del mundo, que realiza WPP y Kantar, Nike es la marca de ropa más valiosa del mundo, por segundo año consecutivo.
Este resultado no solo reafirma que Nike y su estrategia de comunicación –en la que expresa de manera clara su opinión frente a algunos temas de coyuntura, especialmente en Estados Unidos– ha sido muy bien recibida por parte de las audiencias; también muestra que las marcas de la categoría deportes sigue creciendo.
Adidas, que se ubica en el puesto número 3 del ranking, creció 13% a USD$13,400 millones. Según el BrandZ, Adidas y Nike tienen en común que ambas han introducido productos de edición limitada de alto precio en colaboración con marcas de moda de lujo.
Adidas creó colecciones con Alexander Wang, mientras que las colaboraciones de Nike incluyeron una con Ronnie Fief, minorista de zapatillas y streetwear de Nueva York. Esto generó ingresos adicionales, pero también influenció bastante la parte más popular de la gama de productos.
