Salvatore Ferragamo hunde sus ventas un 31% hasta marzo por el coronavirus
Salvatore Ferragamo sufre el golpe del Covid-19 en sus cuentas. El grupo italiano de calzado ha cerrado el primer trimestre (finalizado el 31 de marzo) con una caída de las ventas del 30,6%, según las cuentas no auditadas hechas públicas hoy.
La empresa facturó 220 millones de euros entre enero y marzo, frente a los 347 millones de euros del mismo periodo del año anterior. La compañía explica que registró una evolución “sólida” en enero en sus principales mercados, pero las ventas se “deterioraron” en febrero y marzo, primero en China y el resto de Asia y progresivamente también en Europa, América y el resto del mundo, “siguiendo la rápida expansión de la pandemia causada por el coronavirus Covid-19”.
Salvatore Ferragamo ha cerrado la mayoría de sus tiendas en todo el mundo y en las que permanecen abiertas ha registrado una reducción “significativa” del tráfico. En este sentido, las ventas en sus tiendas propias cayeron un 28,6%, mientras que el canal multimarca encogió un 33,7%, penalizado por la cancelación de pedidos, principalmente en el travel retail.
Coincidiendo con la publicación de sus resultados preliminares, Salvatore Ferragamo también ha anunciado que pospondrá la junta general de accionistas hasta el 8 de mayo, que suspenderá el reparto del beneficio y que establecerá un comité ejecutivo para hacer frente a “la emergencia causada por la pandemia del Covid-19”.
