El Corte Inglés completa la refinanciación de su deuda de 2.000 millones
El Corte Inglés obtiene un respiro financiero. El grupo de grandes almacenes ha llegado a un acuerdo con veinticuatro entidades bancarias para refinanciar su deuda, cuyo importe agregado es de 2.000 millones de euros. De esta manera, la compañía mejora las condiciones que tenía actualmente al asegurar una financiación estable, con menor coste, mayores plazos y sin garantías.
El acuerdo permite al grupo ampliar los plazos de pago hasta febrero de 2025, con la posibilidad de extensión de un año. En dicho acuerdo, que se ha realizado en un formato de Investment Grade, está ya incluido el desarrollo del negocio del real estate de la compañía.
“En este sentido, se permitirá el traspaso de activos inmobiliarios hasta un máximo de 2.500 millones de euros a dicha unidad de negocio sin obligación de amortización de deuda en El Corte Inglés”, según ha explicado la compañía en un comunicado.

El acuerdo de refinanciación incluye también compromisos de sostenibilidad en línea con las estrategias de responsabilidad social corporativa que lleva a cabo el grupo. En concreto, el grupo rebajará el coste de su deuda si cumple con la condición de hacerse más sostenible.
Además, el acuerdo disminuye en cincuenta millones de euros la financiación bancaria actual de la empresa. De los 2.000 millones acordados con los bancos, novecientos millones corresponden a préstamos a largo plazo, y 1.100 millones a una línea de crédito para hacer frente a necesidades circulante. Los fondos obtenidos a través de este contrato se destinarán a reemplazar el crédito sindicado de enero de 2018, cuyo importe asciende a 2.050 millones de euros.
En paralelo, el consejo de administración de El Corte Inglés ha aprobado también un plan de recompra de entorno al 3% de las acciones en manos de sus directivos. “Estos podrán participar en un nuevo sistema de inversión diseñado para fidelizar a los ejecutivos en función de resultados”, ha señalado el grupo.
En la reunión del consejo, además, el organismo ha aprobado por unanimidad el nombramiento de José Ramón de Hoces como secretario no consejero. El directivo es abogado de Estado y socio del bufete Pérez-Llorca.
