Las fábricas de China rebotan: el PMI se dispara en marzo tras el mínimo por el Covid-19
China recupera el ritmo del sector manufacturero. La actividad de las fábricas experimentó un rebote en marzo tras la caída a mínimos históricos registrada en febrero por la paralización de las fábricas para contener la expansión del coronavirus. El índice de gestores de compras (PMI) se situó en marzo en 52 puntos, frente a los 35,7 puntos del mes anterior.
A medida que el Gobierno del país ha ido levantando las medidas de contención del virus, las fábricas del país han ido reabriendo y los trabajadores han regresado a sus puestos de trabajo, de manera que el indicador se ha elevado en el último mes.
La evolución del PMI en marzo, divulgado por la Oficina China de Estadística, ha cerrado por encima de las expectativas del consenso de mercado, que se situaban en 44,8 puntos. Cuando el indicador se sitúa por encima de cincuenta puntos se considera que la actividad se encuentra en fase expansiva, mientras que una cifra por debajo de cincuenta indica contracción.
A pesar de ello, la Oficina China de Estadística ha advertido que el repunte registrado en marzo no implica que se haya estabilizado o recuperado la actividad económica, pues esta se ve marcada por la caída demanda externa como consecuencia de la crisis del coronavirus.
