Beneficios y protección para mujeres dominicanas ante COVID-19
Será verificará la situación de las mujeres trabajadoras que han quedado desprotegidas a partir de la situación creada por el coronavirus (COVID-19) para buscarles una solución digna.
Así lo dio a conocer la vicepresidenta Margarita Cedeño, al afirmar que “hemos escuchado el clamor del Foro Feminista, la Confederación Nacional de Mujeres del Campo, la Asociación de Mujeres Amas de Casa y la AsociaciónDominicana Pro Bienestar de la Familia, y desde aquí hacemos un llamado para observar y cumplir lo que establece el Convenio 189 de la OIT, sobre trabajo doméstico”.
“Lamentablemente, el incumplimiento de este Convenio por parte de algunos sectores de la sociedad, ha llevado a que muchas mujeres hayan quedado desprotegidas durante esta crisis. Nos comprometemos a verificar la situación de estas mujeres trabajadoras para buscarles una solución digna a su situación actual”.
Margarita Cedeño solicitó a las mujeres que hayan sido suspendidas en pequeños negocios y no pueden acogerse al Fondo de Asistencia Solidaria a los Empleados (FASE) suministrar los listados para verificar la pertinencia de su integración en el programa de ayuda temporal Quédate en Casa.
“Asimismo, las empleadas embarazadas que hayan sido suspendidas o estén acogidas al programa FASE, la Ley les garantiza sus prestaciones por maternidad”.
Indicó que, de igual modo, el Ministerio de Agricultura se ha comprometido a dar apoyo a las mujeres del campo y garantizar la distribución de los insumos de manera equitativa.
Respecto a los nuevos hogares que serán incorporados, dijo que se trabaja sin descanso para que las familias reciban su primera quincena de mayo el próximo viernes 8, conjuntamente con los que ya forman parte del programa a través de sus cédulas.
