Abercrombie reduce en los primeros nueve meses del ejercicio y nombra a una nueva presidenta global de marcas
Abercrombie&Fitch reduce sus números tojos. La compañía estadounidense ha cerrado los nueve meses de su ejercicio fiscal (cerrado el 3 de noviembre) con unas pérdidas de 19,5 millones de dólares (17,2 millones de euros), frente al resultado negativo de 65 millones (57,4 millones de euros) registrados en el mismo periodo del año anterior.
Las ventas de la compañía, por su parte, se situaron en 2.434,5 millones de dólares (2.152,2 millones de euros), lo que representa un crecimiento de 5,9%% respecto a los 2.299,5 millones (2.032,9 millones de euros) contabilizados el pasado año.
Abercrombie&Fitch registró unas pérdidas antes de impuestos de 11,1 millones de dólares (9,8 millones de euros), lo que supone una mejora comparado con los nueve meses del año anterior, cuando marcó un resultado negativo de 81 millones de dólares (71,6 millones de euros).
Abercrombie&Fitch ha nombrado a Kristin Scott como responsable global de todas las marcas del grupo
La compañía ha atribuido los resultados al aumento de las ventas en superficie comparable de sus dos marcas, a la evolución de su negocio omnicanal y al incremento de las ventas en su plataforma de ecommerce.
A 3 de noviembre de 2018, la empresa operaba con cuatrocientos establecimientos de Hollister en Estados Unidos, seis más que los 396 con que contaba tres meses atrás. Las tiendas de esta marca en los mercados internacionales sumaron 147. El grupo también dispone de 285 de Abercrombie en su mercado local y 48 en el exterior.
La compañía, además, ha nombrado Kristin Scott, hasta ahora máxima responsable de Hollister, como presidenta global para marcas. Desde su nueva posición, la ejecutiva se encargará de impulsar las enseñas del grupo en el mundo. Con el ascenso de Scott, Stacia Andersen, presidenta de Abercrombie&Fitch y Abercrombie Kids, dejará la compañía.
