Fast Retailing da un paso en su compromiso con la sostenibilidad. El gigante japonés de distribución de moda, el tercer mayor grupo del sector por cifra de negocio, ha firmado el Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action para luchar contra el cambio climático.
Así, el dueño de Uniqlo “acelerará la coordinación con empresas y partes interesadas de todo el mundo y contribuirá a la realización de un mundo sostenible en todas las industrias”, según ha señalado Yukihiro Nitta, vicepresidenta de sostenibilidad de Fast Retailing, en un comunicado.

El Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action se firmó a finales de 2018 en el marco de la Cumbre del Clima de Katowice (Polonia con el objetivo de avanzar hacia un compromiso holístico con la acción climática. En concreto, el sector de la moda se comprometió a lograr emisiones netas cero a la atmósfera para 2050.
Entre las compañías que firmaron el Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action se encuentran gigantes del sector como Adidas, Burberry, El Corte Inglés, Gap, H&M, Inditex, Kering, Levi Strauss, Nike, PVH, Puma o VF, entre otros.
Además de distribuidores de moda, el pacto también está firmado por fabricantes y asociaciones textiles como Textil Santanderina, Sympatex Technologies, Peak Performance Production, Paris Good Fashion o la federación francesa de Prêt à Porter Féminin.
