Louis Vuitton refuerza su músculo productivo con una nueva fábrica en Barcelona
Louis Vuitton expande su red productiva en España. La compañía francesa, propiedad del conglomerado de lujo LVMH, tiene previsto abrir una nueva fábrica en la localidad catalana de Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, en Barcelona.
Los planes de la empresa pasan por trasladar toda la actividad de la planta que cuenta en Polinyà a la nueva fábrica, según Expansión. El motivo del traslado se debe a que las antiguas instalaciones se han quedado pequeñas.
La nueva fábrica contará con una superficie de 8.000 metros cuadrados, y estará dedicada al corte y preparación de cuero, cremalleras y metálicas. Además, el complejo albergará parte de los almacenes y la actividad logística de Louis Vuitton en Cataluña.

En la región, la compañía cuenta con centros de producción en Barberà (Barcelona) y Champllong (Girona), que serán abastecidos por la nueva fábrica. La empresa tiene previsto finalizar en enero las obras de las nuevas instalaciones.
LVMH cerró los nueve primeros meses de ejercicio con una cifra de negocio de 38.398 millones de euros, un 16% más que en el mismo periodo del año anterior. Por categorías de producto, la moda y los artículos de piel continúan siendo el principal segmento por facturación, agrandando la distancia con el resto tras crecer un 22% en los nueve primeros meses, hasta 15.873 millones de euros.
