Macy’s sigue los pasos de otros gigantes y cierra todas sus tiendas en EEUU
Macy’s se suma a la oleada de cierres. El mayor grupo de grandes almacenes del mundo cerrará todas sus tiendas hasta el próximo 31 de marzo, según anunció ayer martes la empresa. Otras empresas como Kering, Tiffany, Hudson’s Bay, Douglas, Selfridges y Bergdorf Goodman han tomado medidas similares en las últimas horas. Italia, España, Francia e Italia han decretado el cierre total del comercio en los últimos días.
Jeff Gennette, presidente y consejero delegado de Macy’s, ha recalcado que el ecommerce permanecerá abierto. La empresa opera con 775 tiendas, incluyendo las de Bloomingdale’s, Bluemercury, Market y Backstage.

Douglas, que ha presentado hoy sus resultados trimestrales, mantiene cerradas ya la mayor parte de sus tiendas en Europa. La empresa ha descartado realizar una estimación del impacto que pudiera tener en su negocio.
Por otro lado, Adidas también ha anunciado hoy el cierre de sus tiendas en Europa y Norteamérica por el coronavirus. La compañía ha anunciado la clausura temporal de sus establecimientos en Europa, Estados Unidos y Canadá hasta el 29 de marzo. Los cierres también afectarán a las tiendas propias de Reebok en estos mercados.
