Sostenibilidad: Corona reportó logros de gestión en su Informe de Sostenibilidad 2018

Corona presentó los logros alcanzados en su gestión desde la perspectiva de la triple cuenta – en términos sociales, económicos y ambientales – en su Informe de Sostenibilidad 2018.

Algunos logros de la gestión de Corona resumida en el Informe de Sostenibilidad 2018 son:

Más de 254.000 personas beneficiadas con los programas sociales de Voluntariado, Banco de Materiales, donaciones en especie y los proyectos que la empresa realiza en alianza con la Fundación Corona.

Al cierre del año anterior Corona cuenta con cuatro Reservas Naturales de la Sociedad Civil con una extensión de 74,9 hectáreas dedicadas a la conservación de flora y fauna en diferentes regiones del país.

79% del agua utilizada en las plantas en Colombia es reciclada y reutilizada. Esto equivale al consumo de 8.050 familias en un año.

En desarrollo de la estrategia de Economía Circular, Corona aprovechó 69.590 toneladas de residuos generados en sus procesos productivos como materia prima para sus productos y 26.400 toneladas de residuos inertes del proceso cerámico se utilizaron por parte de un tercero en su proceso manufacturero.

Reducción de las emisiones de Gases Efecto Invernadero en 3.239 toneladas de CO2, equivalentes al carbono que podrían capturar 48.587 árboles sembrados. Esta reducción corresponde al ahorro en consumo energético de 49 TJ.

Se lanzaron colecciones con más de 100 nuevos productos de acabados y materiales para la construcción y remodelación que se diferencian por su tecnología, funcionalidad y diseño.

El diseño de los productos de Corona fue reconocido internacionalmente: el lavamanos Liquid ganó el premio Red Dot en Alemania, la colección de griferías Aluvia recibió el iF Design Award en la categoría Oro, el lavamanos Cascade ganó Oro en el A´Design Award and Competition y en Estados Unidos los lavamanos Cascade, Liquid y Manantial y el sanitario Vanquish recibieron el premio GOOD DESIGN.

Avanzó de manera importante la construcción de la planta de Empresa Colombiana de Cementos, sociedad de Cementos Molins de España y Corona Industrial, y está previsto que entre en operación en el segundo semestre de 2019.

Corona inauguró cinco Escuelas de Destrezas que son centros de entrenamiento y capacitación para los colaboradores que trabajan en la manufactura de sanitarios en Girardota, Antioquia y México, de grifería en Funza, Cundinamarca, y de aisladores eléctricos en Sabaneta, Antioquia, con el objeto de desarrollar sus competencias, reducir las curvas de aprendizaje y mejorar los procesos de manufactura.

Más de 13.000 colaboradores de Corona Industrial y Homecenter recibieron capacitación en temas como experiencia de compra, logística, ventas y liderazgo.

Más de 21.000 maestros de obra recibieron capacitación en diversas actividades propias de su profesión a través de los programas Llave Maestra de Corona y Círculo de Especialistas de Homecenter.

Corona y Homecenter adelantaron el segundo ciclo de la Aceleradora Sodimac Corona en el cual participaron cinco emprendimientos y un intra-emprendimiento de la División de Baños y Cocinas de Corona. Los retos en los que trabajaron los emprendimientos estuvieron relacionados en Homecenter con inteligencia de negocios, logística y experiencia del cliente, y en Corona con eficiencia energética, desarrollo de nuevos negocios, visión 360 de inventario y la propuesta de valor para baños institucionales.

Corona ocupó el puesto número 12 en el ranking de las 100 empresas con mejor reputación de Merco Empresas Colombia 2018 y se mantuvo en el primer lugar del sector Industrial.
