En 2018 intercambio comercial de RD superó los US$31,500 millones
La Oficina Nacional de Estadísticas (ONE) informó que en el 2018 la República Dominicana intercambió bienes con otros países por un valor de US$31,583.48 millones. Lo que representa el 70.3% en las importaciones y el restante 29.7% a las exportaciones.
La ONE dijo que las exportaciones de productos dominicanos alcanzaron los US$9,395.6 millones, lo que significó un aumento de un 6.1% en términos absolutos y un incremento de US$540.0 millones en relación al 2017.
De acuerdo con los datos publicado en el Anuario de Comercio Exterior 2019 que elabora la ONE, en este periodo se observan incrementos del 3.5% (US$125.5 millones) en las exportaciones nacionales y 7.8% en las exportaciones de Zonas Francas (US$414.5 millones).
La directora de la ONE, Alexandra Izquierdo, explicó que del total exportado en el año 2018, el 60.8% perteneció a las exportaciones realizadas por las empresas de Zonas Francas, mientras que el restante 39.2% correspondió a las exportaciones nacionales.
Destino de las exportaciones dominicana en 2018
Los Estados Unidos, Haití, India y Canadá se reparten más de las tres cuartas partes de las exportaciones realizadas por República Dominicana.
Estados Unidos acaparó el 55.5% de las exportaciones del 2018, un 10-.6 más que el año 2017, lo que representó en valor absoluto unos US$501.2 millones adicionales, mientras que Haití, el segundo socio comercial del país, adquirió el 9.3% de las exportaciones dominicanas, un incremento del 2.6% (US$22.3 millones).
El tercer destino de las exportaciones en el 2018 lo ocupó India con el 7.2% (US$ 674.8 millones), desplazando a Canadá que en el 2017 tuvo este puesto, pasando en el 2018 a la cuarta posición con el 6.8 % (US$ 150.2 millones).
Principales productos exportados
El oro tuvo un valor de un 15.4% en las exportaciones de República Dominicana durante 2018. El monto refleja una reducción del 6.8% respecto al 2017 (US$104.7 millones). Otros productos fueron instrumentos y los aparatos de medicina, cirugía, odontología o veterinaria y demás, con un valor de US$831.6 millones, con una representación del 9.9% del total de las exportaciones, pero estos productos redujeron sus exportaciones en un 2.4 %, durante el 2017, lo que en términos absolutos se traduce en US$20.2 millones menos.
Los cigarros, que incluyen los puros, ocuparon un tercer lugar en los productos con el mayor valor exportado en 2018 de US$732.4 millones, un incremento, respecto al 2017, del 1.7 % (US$12.4 millones).
