El G20 eleva el proteccionismo mientras frena el comercio internacional
El proteccionismo comienza a golpear al comercio internacional. Los países del G20 han desacelerado su intercambio comercial en el periodo comprendido entre mayo y octubre, debido a políticas internacionales restrictivas, según señala la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC).
El incremento de las medidas proteccionistas entre las veinte mayores economías del mundo coincide con una desaceleración del comercio internacional, que en la primera mitad del año creció un 3,4%. La cifra está por debajo del 5,4% registrado la segunda mitad del 2017. La OMC pronostica que en lo que resta de 2018 y durante 2019, el comercio mundial seguirá creciendo, pero a ritmos más lentos.
La entidad destaca también que entre mayo y octubre, las economías del G20 aplicaron cuarenta medidas proteccionistas nuevas. En este periodo, las importaciones de estos países fueron de 480.900 millones de dólares (421.560 millones de euros).
En la media, los aumentos de aranceles y las limitaciones de las importaciones fueron las medidas proteccionistas más implementadas en el periodo que analiza la OMC.
