Asics reduce su beneficio un 37,1% en los nueve primeros meses y gana un 4,7% menos

La evolución negativa del running lastra los resultados de Asics. La empresa nipona de artículos redujo su beneficio operativo un un 37,1%, hasta 13.600 millones de yenes (105,4 millones de euros). La facturación del grupo también cayó en el mismo periodo, hasta 295.680 millones de yenes (2.292,12 millones de euros) un 4,7% menos.

El principal motivo de la caída de las ventas de Asics es el ligero descenso del mercado del running, que durante estos últimos años ha sido la locomotora de la marca. “La facturación de nuestro negocio de running, cayó un 7%, mientras que las ventas de las zapatillas Onitsuka Tiger crecieron más de un 30%”, explica la compañía a sus inversores, sobre el giro hacia al mundo de las snekers y el lifestyle.

El peso del running ha pasado de prácticamente rozar el 60% del negocio de Asics en los nueve primeros meses de 2017 al 55,8% en el mismo periodo de 2018. En total, esta categoría registró ventas por valor de 165.000 millones de yenes (1.279,4 millones de euros), un 7,5% menos. La venta de artículos de entrenamiento también cayó un 14,2%, hasta 14.800 millones de yenes (114,7 millones de euros).

El resto de artículos deportivos, donde se incluyen deportes como el tenis o el pádel, facturaron 46.100 millones de yenes (357,4 millones de euros), un 4,8% menos. El lifestyle fue el único segmento que creció, hasta 44.600 millones de yenes (345,8 millones de euros), un 11,8% más.
