España: Mango se afianza online, el peso del ecommerce llega ya al 20%

El grupo ha logrado superar el objetivo dos años antes de lo previsto, después de que la facturación por Internet aumentara un 30% en el último ejercicio, frente al crecimiento del 15,5% de 2017.

Mango se hace fuerte en la Red. En 2018, las ventas online del grupo aumentaron un 30%, llegando a copar el 20% de la facturación total de la compañía, un objetivo que se había fijado inicialmente para 2020.

Las ventas a través de móviles han superado a la de los ordenadores, llegando al 59% del total. La web de Mango recibió más de 550 millones de visitas en 2018, un 22% más que el año anterior.

Para 2020, el grupo se ha fijado el objetivo de que los ingresos de la Red lleguen al 30% del total. “Estamos recogiendo los frutos de un gran trabajo y de inversiones importantes, ahora ya estamos trabajando en el horizonte del 30% en 2020”, ha explicado Elena Caraso, directora de online y cliente de Mango.

Para hacer frente a este plan, el departamento de ecommerce y omnicanalidad del grupo se trasladó a edificio del distrito tecnológico barcelonés [email protected] Mango ha instalado un centro de innovación digital de 700 metros cuadrados en edificio Ecourban, en el número 119 de la calle Almogàvers.

A la espera de que el grupo dé a conocer los resultados de 2018, Mango finalizó 2017 con unas ventas de 2.194 millones de euros, un 2,9% inferiores a las del ejercicio anterior. El grupo redujo sus pérdidas un 45% en el mismo periodo, hasta registrar un resultado negativo de 33 millones de euros. Mango operaba con 2.190 tiendas en 110 países del mundo a cierre de 2017.
