Estudios: Los descuentos del Black Friday impulsan el e-commerce en América Latina
A pesar de contar con iniciativas de e-commerce locales, el Black Friday, tradicional y originario de Estados Unidos, se ha expandido por todo el continente americano consolidándose como una de las jornadas de descuento más importantes en América Latina. La edición 2018, que dará inicio este viernes 23 de noviembre, contempla importantes resultados de venta en la región con alzas de entre un 105% y un 225% en la facturación nacional frente a un viernes normal.
El evento de descuentos más importante del año resulta atractivo para el 50% de los colombianos que prevén realizar compras en la jornada, según información publicada por Picodi.com. El mismo estudio reveló además que los colombianos gastarán en promedio 556 000 pesos colombianos (unos 185 dólares), mayoritariamente con pagos en tarjetas de crédito.
El mercado ecuatoriano por su parte es uno de los más activos para el fin de semana del Black Friday, con un 85% de interés por parte de los compradores, según revelaron Black Friday Global y la consultora Eureknow. Las mismas fuentes anunciaron además que el 10% de los ecuatorianos cuenta con un presupuesto superior a 1000 dólares para sus compras, mientras el 90% restante gastará entre 100 y 700 dólares, con una predilección por las compras en plataformas virtuales.
El consumidor peruano, contrario a sus vecinos, es un poco más exigente en cuanto a la calidad, por lo que el precio es tan solo una de las variantes. Aún así, se estima que al menos un 53% de los peruanos tomará parte en el Black Friday 2018, solo un 1% por encima de los consumidores chilenos que, de acuerdo a Picodi, participarán en un 53%. El gasto promedio de los peruanos ronda en los 714 soles (unos 210 dólares), mientras que los chileno desembolsarán entre 155 000 y 197 000 pesos chilenos (unos 230 y 300 dólares).
En contraste, la participación de los consumidores mexicanos y argentinos no llega ni al 50%. El estudio de Picodi indica que un 28% de los argentinos participarán en el Black Friday 2018, mientras que la participación mexicana será del 41%. Cabe destacar que el último fin de semana, del 16 al 19 de noviembre, México celebró su versión local del Black Friday. La iniciativa de e-commerce bautizada “El Buen Fin” prevé que la facturación de su octava edición ronde los de 97 millones de pesos (unos 5 millones de dólares).
Aún a cuatro días del cierre de “El Buen Fin”, los consumidores mexicanos tienen destinado para este Black Friday un gasto de entre 4237 y 5545 pesos (unos 200 y 270 dólares). Mientras que al sur del continente, los argentinos desembolsarán entre 6437 y 6770 pesos (unos 170 y 190 dólares), continuando la tendencia al alza que mantiene el e-commerce en Argentina y que no se ha visto afectada por la baja en el consumo que atraviesa el país desde comienzos de año.
Los datos de Picodi señalan además que la intención de compra es mayormente por impulso y de forma espontánea para el 68% de los chilenos, el 60,5% de los argentinos, el 58% de los colombianos y el 51% de los peruanos; al contrario del consumidor mexicano, que en un 54% analiza previamente lo que va a comprar.
Según las estadísticas, los consumidores en Colombia, México, Argentina, Perú, Chile y Ecuador coinciden en las preferencias por categoría y ubican a los sectores de moda, electrónica y cosmética como los más demandados durante los descuentos del “Viernes Negro”. Asimismo, los dispositivos más utilizados para las compras online en la región son principalmente los smartphones, seguidos de las computadoras de escritorio, laptops y finalmente, con menos menciones, las tabletas.
El Black Friday, que tiene lugar al día siguiente de Acción de Gracias, abre simbólicamente la campaña de rebajas navideñas y representa una oportunidad que hace posibles grandes ahorros desde cualquier lugar del mundo de la mano del comercio electrónico. Sin embargo, cabe mencionar que el endeudamiento promedio en el continente para este tipo de eventos asciende al equivalente del 60% del salario mensual de los compradores, según han informado las franquicias de las tarjetas de crédito en la región.
