Hudson’s Bay completa la venta de Lord Taylor a Le Tote por 100 millones
Hudson’s Bay se desprende de Lord Taylor. El grupo de grandes almacenes ha completado la venta de la compañía a la plataforma de venta de segunda mano, Le Tote, por 100 millones de dólares canadienses (68 millones de euros). Aunque el acuerdo se cerró en agosto, ha sido este mes de noviembre cuando la venta se ha hecho efectiva.
Le Tote, especializada en alquiler de ropa por suscripción, había alcanzado un acuerdo con el grupo canadiense el pasado agosto. El acuerdo incluye la marca de Lord Taylor, así como su propiedad intelectual, el ecommerce, el inventario y sus 38 tiendas. Hudson’s Bay, por su parte, pasará a controlar un 25% de Le Tote, con derecho a designar dos consejeros.
Hudson’s Bay prosigue así el proceso de desinversión que emprendió el año pasado. En 2018, Hudson’s Bay también vendió Gilt Groupe a su competidor Rue La La. Por otro lado, el grupo vendió sus operaciones minoristas europeas a Signa Holdings, propietaria de la cadena de grandes almacenes Karstadt en Alemania. También puso a la venta una participación del 50% en sus propiedades inmobiliarias europeas. La venta a Signa llevó a una fusión de las cadenas de grandes almacenes Kaufhof y Karstadt en Alemania.
