Natura engorda su facturación un 7,8% pero sus ganancias caen un 65,2% tras la compra de Avon

Natura crece pero su beneficio reduce. El gigante de la cosmética, propietario de Avom, The Body Shop y Aesop, ha cerrado el último ejercicio engordando su facturación un 7,8%, hasta 14.447,7 millones de reales (2.806 millones de euros) y con un beneficio de 190 millones de reales (36,9 millones de euros), un 65,2% menos que el ejercicio anterior, tras haber sellado la compra de Avon.

La compañía ha elevado las ventas de 13.397,4 millones de reales (2.601,9 millones de euros) 14.447,7 millones de reales (2.806 millones de euros) en el ejercicio de 2019. Sin embargo, su beneficio pasó de 584 millones de dólares (113,4 millones de euros) en el ejercicio 2018 a 190 millones de reales (36,9 millones de euros) a cierre de 2019.

La caída significativa en las ganancias netas del grupo se debió a la finalización de la compra de la estadounidense Avon en mayo de 2019. Natura selló la compra en una transacción valorada por 2.000 millones de dólares. 

En la región de Latinoamérica, los ingresos del último trimestre crecieron un 10,6%. The Body Shop registró un aumento del 6,7% en el mismo periodo y Aesop registró un incremento de ingresos del 25,7% en el cuarto trimestre. Los ingresos netos consolidados crecieron un 7,8% a cierre del año, respaldado por el crecimiento en las tres empresas.

En Brasil, la empresa cerró el año con la apertura de nueve tiendas propias, finalizando el año con un total de 58 tiendas en la región. Por su lado, The Body Shop cerró el año con un total de 2.879 establecimientos, entre franquicias y tiendas propias, en comparación con las 2.863 del 2018. Tras la finalización de la compra de Avon, Natura se convirtió en la cuarta mayor empresa de cosmética del mundo por cifra de negocio.
