“Como equipo y compañía hicimos un mea culpa y sabemos que tenemos que empezar por algo para relacionarnos mejor con el medio ambiente. Frenar la venta de agua en botellas de plástico y promover el uso de termos y recipientes reutilizables es nuestro pequeño primer paso para cumplir con el objetivo de eliminar el uso de plásticos de un solo uso en nuestra operación. Este es un primer peldaño de muchos que queremos escalar. Pensamos en un modelo en el que podamos hacer partícipe a nuestros clientes y vayamos avanzando con acciones decididas, hacia la reducción del plástico de un solo uso en nuestra operación”, explica Pablo Vélez, uno de los socios propietarios de Home Burgers.
Propósito
Se espera que durante los próximos 18 meses, Home Burgers reduzca un 90% los plásticos de un solo uso. Para ello, se ha planteado una línea de acciones que hacen parte de su plataforma de responsabilidad ambiental Home Sweet Home.
Entre las acciones, se destacan la eliminación de las botellas plásticas de agua, la promoción de uso de termos reutilizables, la adecuación de canecas para mejorar la separación de residuos aprovechables, eliminar completamente el uso de bolsas de plástico en domicilios, entre otras.
Los filtros estarán disponibles en los quince puntos de venta de Home Burgers ubicados en Bogotá, Chía y Medellín. Esta iniciativa fue apoyada por las agencias Fantástica y Dattis.
