Tapestry inicia el ejercicio de 2020 a la baja. El conglomerado estadounidense, dueño de Coach, Kate Spade y Stuart Weiztman, ha finalizado el primer trimestre con un beneficio de veinte millones de dólares (17,9 millones de euros), un 83% menos que en el mismo periodo del año anterior.
La compañía también ha reducido su facturación entre junio y septiembre. En el primer trimestre, las ventas de la empresa cayeron un 1,6%, hasta 1.357,9 millones de dólares (1.217,4 millones de euros).
Por marcas, la enseña que peor evolucionó en el periodo fue Stuart Weitzman, con una caída del 9%, hasta 86,5 millones de dólares (77,5 millones de euros). Kate Spade, por su parte, redujo sus ingresos un 6,1% en el periodo, hasta 305,5 millones de dólares (273,8 millones de euros).
Coach, en cambio, situó su cifra de negocio al alza durante el periodo. La firma finalizó el primer trimestre con una facturación de 965,9 millones de dólares (865,9 millones de euros).
A pesar de los resultados, Jide Zeitlin, consejero delegado y presidente del grupo, ha señalado en un comunicado que “los ingresos del primer trimestre fiscal fueron consistentes con nuestras expectativas”.
