Calzedonia invierte 15 millones de dólares en una planta de producción en Etiopía
Calzedonia deslocaliza parte de su producción en África. El grupo italiano de moda íntima ha puesto en marcha su primera en el continente africano, concretamente en el norte de Etiopía. La empresa ha invertido 15 millones de dólares (13 millones de euros) en estas instalaciones, en las que se producirán leggings, calcetines y trajes de baño para mujeres, hombres y niños.
La fábrica se encuentra en el parque industrial Mekelle, y en ella trabajan 1.100 personas. Se prevé que desde esta planta de producción se exporte productos a países europeos por un valor de 787.000 dólares (684.743 euros) mensuales.
En la actualidad, el Gobierno de Etiopía está apoyando el desarrollo de la industria de la moda en el país. Recientemente se ha puesto en marcha un parque industrial en Adama, a 100 kilómetros de la ciudad de Addis Ababa, que generará más de 38 millones de dólares (33 millones) en exportaciones de ropa para empresas como PVH, H&M, Zara o Decathlon.
En la planta de Calzedonia trabajan 1.100 personas y ahí se producirán ‘leggings’, calcetines y trajes de baño
El país africano, además, contará con tres nuevos parques industriales a partir del próximo año para reforzar su producción textil y de la confección. Las nuevas instalaciones de ubicarán en las localidades de Aysha, Smerea y Assosa.
Calzedonia facturó 2.300 millones de euros en el ejercicio pasado, frente a los 2.128 millones de euros que Calzedonia facturó en 2016. Por cadenas, el concepto homónimo de la empresa anotó unos ingresos de 802 millones de euros en 2017, un 13,8% más que en el año anterior. Intimissimi, por su parte, creció un 3,9% el año pasado, hasta 691 millones de euros, mientras que Tezenis elevó sus ventas un 7,6%, hasta 609 millones de euros.
